The word Albret originated around the year 1000 in the seigneury of Labrit, located in the Landes region. The name is thought to come from the Gascon word lèbre, meaning hare.

The Albret region has been shaped by a rich history marked by significant events and well-known figures such as Henry IV, Armand Fallières, etc. 

From the fertile plains of the north to the hillsides of the south, passing through the sand dunes of the Landes forest to the west, below is a list of the 33 municipalities that make up our territory.

Xaintrailles
The highest point in Albret, Xaintrailles offers exceptional panoramic views of the diverse landscapes of Lot-et-Garonne: to the north, the Garonne plain and its orchards; to the south, the green plain of the Baïse; to the east, the hillsides of Brulhois and its vineyards; and to the west, the mysterious Landes forest.
