EuroVelo 3, the Pilgrims' Route, retraces the famous Way of St. James from Norway to Spain.
A journey of more than 5,000 km across seven countries in Western Europe, passing through major cities such as Oslo, Gothenburg, Hamburg, Cologne, Paris, and Bordeaux. The French section is called La Scandibérique. Covering 1,600 km, it is currently the longest cycle route in France, crossing the country diagonally before joining the Lot-et-Garonne viathe Canal des 2 Mers à Vélo route.
In Albret, the Scandibérique leaves the banks of the canal atFeugarollesand heads towards the Landes forest along the bucolic back roads of Albret. From thefortified bastide town of Viannetothecharmingvillage of Sos, viaMézin, gateway to the Armagnac region, andPoudenaswith its Tuscan-style castle, there are plenty of reasons to sample the flavors of Armagnac, Buzet wines, and foie gras throughout the Lot-et-Garonne region.
