This town offers magnificent views at the foot of the Landes forest. The castrum of Andiran was first mentioned in 1259. The village developed around the castle and the 12th-century parish church. Owned by Johan de Frère, the castle was occupied by the English. It was largely rebuilt at the end of the 15th century and restored at the end of the 19th century. The tower was renovated in a medieval style with curtain walls and battlements. Traces of the medieval enclosure remain today.
The church, whose bell tower was rebuilt in 1892, has an 18th-century sacristy.
Around the village, the Tauziète bridge, a remarkable monument connecting Nérac to Mézin. Composed of three arches, it was rebuilt in 1628.
The town is home to the Château d'Hordosse, which was the residence of Salluste du Bartas, poet and gentleman of the court of Navarre.
