Come and discover this charming little village built on a hillside overlooking the Gélise river. A few miles from Mézin, Poudenas is located on the edge of the Landes forest, in the eastern part of the Pays d'Albret region. Perched at the top of the village, the 13th-century castle dominates the landscape.
Its elegant façade, park, and terraces, along with the church and bell tower lined with cypress trees, irresistibly evoke a southern village. At the top of the promontory, next to the church, you can enjoy a breathtaking view.
At the foot of the village, the Gélise River, which originates near Lupiac in the Gers department, flows through Poudenas on both sides. This river, which is suitable for canoeing and kayaking, flows under the Romanesque bridge, passes by the 14th-century mill, winds its way between wooded islands, and continues its course beyond the waterfall. The wooden gallery and small square add to the charm of this village.
