The Northern Albrésienne, “BASTIDES AND VINEYARDS” Route
After setting off from the royal town of Nérac, you will discover Barbaste and its Moulin des Tours mill, the fortified towns of Lavardac and Vianne, and then the castrum of Bruch.
This route will take you to the banks of the Canal des Deux Mers, where you will cross the Way of St. James.
You will then cross the vineyards of the Buzet appellation to reach the castle of Xaintrailles and the ruins of Montgaillard.
The Southern Albrésienne, “Hills and Forests” Route
After passing through the bastide town of Lamontjoie, where you may encounter pilgrims on their way to Santiago de Compostela, you will discover the richness of the agricultural world as you pass through Francescas and Moncrabeau, famous for its festival of liars.
The vineyards of Armagnac and Floc de Gascogne welcome you from Mézin, the cork capital of the 19th and 20th centuries, and then take you to Poudenas, a Tuscan-style town. From Réaup-Lisse, you will enter the majestic forest of the Landes de Gascogne.
