Moulin des Tours and its Roman Bridge

Built between the 12th and 14th centuries, the Moulin des Tours de Barbaste mill and its Romanesque bridge immerse you in the medieval world as you discover one of the most beautiful wonders of Aquitaine, once owned by Henri de Navarre, the future Henri IV.
Discover this exceptional site in the footsteps of the most popular of France's kings, who signed some of his letters: "Henri, the miller of the towers of Barbaste"!
The history of this unique fortress mill in the south-west of France is told through an exhibition covering 800 years of history. Head to the Moulin des Tours Tourist Office to begin your visit!
NEW: access to the upper parts is now possible! Climb the 61 steps of the medieval staircase to discover the village of Barbaste from the heights of the fortified mill.
