Henri IV Castle Museum

Set against the historic backdrop of the town of Nérac, the castle was built in the 15th century by Alain d'Albret le Grand, the great-great-grandfather of Henry IV. The main residence of the future Henri IV and his wife Queen Marguerite de Valois, known as Queen Margot, from 1577 to 1582, it bears witness to the heyday of the d'Albret family and the court of Nérac during the Renaissance. The castle was largely dismantled during the Revolution and today only the remarkable north wing of its inner courtyard remains.
Events allow the public to discover the Château de Nérac in an original way. Cultural events are held throughout the summer season.
